“In the last 10 years my day has always started with coffee — specifically a whole-milk, 12-ounce cappacino. There is something about the creamy caffiene and heart shaped swirl that makes me feel in control of the day ahead, puts a little pep in my step and charges me wirth a burst of dark roast creative energy. That being said — there is nothing worse than a bad cup of coffee.

Since I first tirelessly struggeled to find the perfect spot to grab my coffee one chilly morning in Cape Town, I thought about how nice it would be if there was a platform that just got my coffee needs. “I just want good tasty not-burnt, not-cold coffee; a quiet-ish place where I can bring my laptop and work for a little while with quality wifi.” Is that so much to ask for?

Coffee shops to me have always been more than just places to grab an oat milk iced latte. They’re community spots, cozy work nooks, creative hideaways, and funky spaces dotted with potted plants and excentric people. But right now, most discovery platforms rank cafés purely by stars — missing the magic that makes each space unique, turning quality café finding into down right luck or some serious sloothing. What if you could look at a map and filter it by roast, vibe, and wifi-strength? What if you had a space to log all the places you’ve been and loved (or hated) so you know where to go next time when you’re looking for a grab-an-go?

This is the project that has has been brewing in my mind… BeanThere was born out of the scribblings of a coffee shop one morning and is now finally coming to life. And so whether you’re looking for a quiet study spot, the best almond cappuccino, or the friendliest staff in town, BeanThere is here to help you and I search and share for the places you want to start or spend your day.”
